Summary: Jonno has won an essay writing competition, and his prize is a trip to South America to watch a total eclipse of the sun. When Jonno arrives he notices more about the country he is visiting than the eclipse, as a group of local people, the NUF, are protesting against the government. Armed soldiers are also walking the streets and there are reports of violence and death on both sides.
